New Years Eve Fatal Run Accident Kills Fountain Valley Woman – A Fountain Valley California dog groomer was killed on new years eve in a hit-and-run car accident that left the 47 year old woman for dead as she lay in the street. The deceased victim, Eugenia Pelagio, was leaving a party in Los Angeles moments before 2:00 a.m. and as she crossed Emerald Street and Second Street in the Westlake District, a gray colored SUV struck her. The pedestrian vs car accident killed the pedestrian instantly. She lay on the pavement as the SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition or a Ford Explorer, illegally fled the scene, according to traffic accident investigators.

A $50,000 reward has been offered by the family of the victim for any information leading to the identity of the driver. The funds come from the newly created Hit and Run Reward Trust Fund in Los Angeles.

The LAPD is also asking for any witnesses to come forward with information. Pelagio left behind four daughters. One of them, Sandra Dzul, said, “they didn’t slow down and help, they just left her.” The family of the vehicle collision victim is hoping a witness appears with information. Her daughters are offering forgiveness for the driver at fault in the collision. They said that they “just need closure and we need peace.” Pelagio was a beloved pet groomer for 20 years in Orange County, and had previously survived a brain aneurism. She leaves behind three more daughters: Geni Laura Dzul, 27; Avigail Dzul Pelagio, 24; and Alondra Dzul, 18.
